Jennifer Lawrence explained the story behind her new skin-coloured tattoo and it’s the most J Law anecdote you’ll ever hear.

She explained that she was on holiday with Liam Hemsworth’s family when she decided to get one.

“I call this tattoo a watered-down rebellion,” she told HitFix. “I was with Liam’s family and everybody was getting tattoos. And I was like, ‘Well I’m always going to need to be hydrated.’ So I guess I should just get H2O on my hand.”

She added that she was fully aware the tattoo is scientifically incorrect.

“I know the ‘2’ is high, and in H2O the ‘2’ is supposed to be low,” she explained. “I should have Googled it before I got it tattooed on my body.”

In getting her new ink, J Law has joined a not-so-exclusive order of celebs with questionable designs, from Katy Perry's sanskrit ink she got when dating Russell Brand, to Cheryl Cole's huge full-back-and-bum rose tattoo.

Not only did she get really excited when she met her idol Bill Murray recently, but she’s also proven adept at the sort of things normal people do, like falling over when accepting awards.
