Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift dominate the most liked Instagram photos of 2015 list

Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift have demonstrated the power of the Millennial by dominating Instagram in 2015.

Instagram today revealed that a photo of Jenner, who has 42.5million followers, with her hair formed into heart shapes was the most 'liked' and commented on picture of the year.

Presently, the photo has been 'liked' 3.2 million times.

Following Jenner was Taylor Swift, in second and third place. Swift, pictured alongside an impressive bouquet of flowers sent to her by Kanye West after presenting him with a VMA Vanguard award was the second most popular and third-ranked was Swift and Calvin Harris appearing to address speculation over their relationship.

The fact that six of the top 10 performing photos in 2015 are either from Swift, mostly pictured with her cats, or Jenner is a significant testament to their reach and global influence through social media.

Earlier this week the MediaGuardian 100 Power List revealed Swift as the highest ranking woman, partly due to her social media reach.

Swift has the most Instagram followers at 56.9million, Selena Gomez follows with 53.2million and Jenner’ elder sister Kim Kardashian-West has 53.1million.

Jenner’s younger sister Kylie came in at fourth place with a picture showing she had graduated from high school. Beyoncé, posing with her daughter Blue Ivy and a selfie of Selena Gomez made up the top 10.

Jenner takes the crown from her elder sister Kim Kardashian-West who’s photograph of her and new husband Kanye West at their wedding topped the same list in 2014.

The picture broke an Instagram record when it amassed 1.93 million 'likes' in the immediate days following its posting.
