Hip-hop artist Lil' Wayne was hospitalised after suffering his third seizure in two months.

TMZ first reported that the 33-year-old rapper spent time in an intensive care unit after suffering the seizure shortly before a Las Vegas performance.

Wayne’s private jet had made two emergency landings last month during a flight across the states. The artist, who has epilepsy, apparently had an issue with medication, the Hollywood gossip rag said, and physicians are working to find the proper balance to treat his ailments.

Doctors described Wayne’s seizure as “severe”. Nonetheless, he was released from the hospital and is currently recovering at his Miami home.

Wayne made his solo debut 1999 with the platinum-certified album Tha Block is Hot. Since he produced 10 subsequent solo records.

According to his website, Lil Wayne surpassed Elvis Presley with more than 100 solo songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Wayne first joined Cash Money Records at the age of nine.
