Maria Sharapova managed to go unspotted as she travelled on the Tube yesterday, after she spent the day at Queen’s.
She is one of tennis’ most recognisable faces, but Londoners were seemingly underwhelmed by her appearance on the Piccadilly line on 10 June.
The Russian sportswoman – who was in London to watch boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov beat Britain's James Ward in the second round of the Queen's Club Aegon Championships – took a picture of herself on the London Underground, while her fellow commuters appeared characteristically bored and uninterested in the background.
The secret to her Tube anonymity? A pair of oversized glasses apparently.
She admits that the London Underground isn’t always her transport of choice, writing under her Twitter picture that she only uses it “occasionally”.
