Gilmour son returns to Cambridge
The son of the Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour will be allowed to return to Cambridge University, despite being jailed for violent disorder during the tuition-fee riots.
Girton College said Charlie Gilmour, from Billingshurst, West Sussex, would be able to resume his history studies in October. He was freed in November after serving four months of a 16-month jail term. He had climbed on the Cenotaph during demonstrations in December 2010.
The college said his return to Cambridge would be "subject to him providing, and abiding by, assurances as to his future good behaviour".
