Hugh Hefner didn't expect split from Crystal

Hugh Hefner "didn't see" the break-up of his relationship with Crystal Harris coming.

The Playboy boss' engagement to the 25-year-old model ended less than a week before their planned wedding on Saturday, and he is still stunned by her decision to call off their marriage, but is relieved it happened before the ceremony.

He wrote on twitter: "I didn't see any of this coming, but I'm glad things went wrong before the marriage instead of after. Live & learn.(sic)"

Hugh also revealed the news came as such as shock, even Crystal's best friend had no idea about it.

He added: "The one who has been the most supportive is Anna. She didn't see this coming either, & she's Crystal's best friend.

"Holly (Madison) by to wish me well. The outpouring of support & affection from so many quarters is really touching.(sic)"

The 85-year-old media mogul is still unsure about the reasons behind their split and claims even Crystal's interview with KIIS-FM DJ Ryan Seacrest has not explained things further.

He wrote: "Crystal did an interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning to explain everything, but I still don't have a clue."

During the interview, Crystal said: "I called it off because I didn't think it was the right thing for me to do . For a while I've been having second thoughts about everything. I haven't really been at peace with myself lately. I didn't think it was really fair to him."
