Mark Wahlberg has revealed he got into his last fight when a man attacked his friend in a nightclub.

The 39-year-old actor trained for four-and-a-half years to play Irish/American boxer Micky Ward in 'The Fighter' and has admitted his training was helpful when his pal got into trouble during a night out.

He said in an interview with Shortlist magazine: "My last fight was a few years ago in a club and I did knuckle-up somebody's face pretty good. They were deserving of it.

"Usually when I start something I don't end up on the winning end, but when I'm doing the right thing I usually come out pretty good. A guy sucker punched a friend of mine, so I had to return the favour. Then his friend came in and he got a little too."

Mark - who has four children, Ella Rae, seven, Michael, four, Brendan, two, and 12-month-old Grace, with his wife Rhea Durham - has always had a bad boy streak and confessed he used to sneak out of the house when his parents were asleep.

Asked if he ever had to escape out of a window, Mark said: "Many times. Many times. Either from a girlfriend or I used to sneak out of the window of my house all the time at night while my parents were asleep, go roam the streets."
