Meryl Streep attends parliament for Thatcher research
Meryl Streep turned up to watch Prime Minister's Questions at Britain's Houses of Parliament yesterday to research for a film role.
The Oscar-winning actress was at the building searching for insight into British politics for her forthcoming performance as Margaret Thatcher in biopic 'The Iron Lady', Prime Minister David Cameron's office has confirmed.
Meryl watched a joust between David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband to see how such debates take place.
While Thatcher was in power from 1979 to 1990 she took part in two 15 minute sessions a week.
Although the film is currently in pre-production, Jim Broadbent is believed to be attached to the role of her husband Denis.
The biopic, which is being produced by Pathe and the BBC, will focus on the 17 days before the 1982 Falklands War between the UK and Argentina.
Damien Jones is set to be produce the project while 'An Englishman in New York' scriber is writing the script.
