Snoop Dogg is now a Lion
Snoop Dogg has announced a change of name after converting to the Rastafari movement during a trip to Jamaica.
The rapper is now going by the name of Snoop Lion. He told journalists in New York that he was given the new moniker by Rastafarian priests.
"I want to bury Snoop Dogg, and become Snoop Lion," said Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus.
"I went to the temple, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said 'Snoop Dogg'. And he looked me in my eyes and said, 'No more. You are the light; you are the lion'."
