Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum have secretly married.

The couple celebrated their wedding at a luxurious country hotel at the weekend after keeping the event secret from all but their closest friends and family.

Pint-sized jazz star Jamie, 30, and statuesque model-turned-author Sophie, 32, jetted off on honeymoon on Monday.

The couple enjoyed a blessing at the Lime Wood Hotel, set in the New Forest National Park, on Saturday followed by a sit-down meal in a marquee. The wedding is thought to have had a "winter wonderland" theme, with the venue lit with hundreds of fairy lights. Guests sat down to food prepared by a Michelin-starred chef in a Spiegeltent, a pavilion described as a "travelling dance hall", before Jamie performed in the hotel.

Jamie's spokeswoman, Kas Mercer, said: "I can confirm that they celebrated their wedding at the weekend."

She said the couple did not officially marry at the hotel as that had taken place earlier.

A spokesman for the hotel said: "They looked very happy. They had a celebration of marriage and a wedding reception."

The hotel, a former Regency manor in Hampshire, is set in 14 acres of landscaped gardens.

Sophie, the granddaughter of the late children's author Roald Dahl, is thought to have worn a Versace dress and been walked down the aisle by her actor father Julian Holloway.

The couple, who got engaged last year after meeting in 2007, are believed to have turned down a big money magazine deal for their wedding.
