Peaches Geldof cause of death to be confirmed at inquest tomorrow

Peaches Geldof’s final moments are set to be revealed at an inquest into her “unexplained” death tomorrow (1 May).

The brief hearing in Gravesend, which is expected to last just 10 minutes, will detail the results of her toxicology tests after her initial post mortem was ruled inconclusive.

It will feature a statement from a senior police officer, followed by an announcement from Kent coroner Roger Hatch.

A full inquest is likely to take place in July.

Geldof was found dead at her home in Kent days after posting a picture of herself and her late mother, Paula Yates, on Instagram. She was 25.

Yates’ body was discovered in 2000 after she died from a heroin overdose.

The socialite’s funeral took place at the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in the Kent village of Davington in Faversham on 21 April. It was the same church her mother’s funeral – and her wedding to husband Thomas Cohen – had taken place.

Mourners wept as her sky blue coffin, which had been painted to show an image of Peaches together with her musician husband Tom Cohen, their two sons Astala, aged 23 months, and Phaedra, 11 months, alongside their pets, was carried into the church.

Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Alexa Chung, Nick Grimshaw, Bill Wyman, Jools Holland and the Duchess of York were among the famous faces that attended the service, as were Jo Wood, Eliza Doolittle, Johnny Borrell, Alan McGee, Mariella Frostrup and husband Jason McCue.

Her father, Sir Bob Geldof, gave an emotional eulogy before her ashes were scattered at his Davington Priory country estate, where she grew up.
