The singer hits back at criticism of her CFDAs invisible dress

So Rihanna wore a dress that showed pretty much everything to the CFDAs this week, but of course you knew that already as it’s been, understandably, one of the most talked-about pictures of this week.

For the most part, the press have conservatively wailed about the ensemble, arguing that it was all too much; the singer was objectifying herself and likely to pollute the minds of her young fans everywhere with her brazen show of sexuality and admirable confidence. How very dare she try and shock us all so blatantly.

However, Rihanna’s response has been expectedly defiant.

“Do my tits bother you? They’re covered in Swarovski crystals girl,” she told one reporter who questioned her look.

The daring look also prompted a meme of Peter Griffin from Family Guy, who was pictured wearing a replica version. Rihanna tweeted the image, which quickly went viral, with the caption: “He gets it!”

She also retweeted a follower, who posted an image of the dress with a quote from late author Maya Angelou (who Rihanna is a fan of), which clearly resonated with the singer.

“Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise...

“That I dance like I've got diamonds - At the meeting of my thighs?”

The singer recently deleted herself from Instagram after the social media channel censored a topless picture of herself shot for a French fashion magazine. This week, her new fragrance advert was deemed "inappropriate for children" and was given "placement restriction" because it was too "sexually suggestive".
