Blackman, 82, has been an actor for more than 60 years, playing the Bond girl Pussy Galore and Cathy Gale in 'The Avengers'. She has been involved with Fairtrade and Women's Aid and works with www.nutriprofile.org, which aims to improve health through free nutritional profiling

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be...

At the movies. I don't care what film, just any good one.

A phrase I use far too often...

"Oh for God's sake." I've no idea why I say that; maybe it's because I'm so impatient.

I wish people would take more notice of...

The Government and politics. People are so apathetic. I'm a member of the Liberal Democrats. I like Nick Clegg – he's definitely an intelligent chap. I think he will wear in.

The most surprising thing that happened to me is...

Finding myself in the situation I'm in today. I'm amazed I have survived in the acting business for such a length of time.

I am not a politician, but...

Tony Blair should be ashamed of what he's done. He misled the Cabinet, he misled the country, he misled absolutely everyone. Thousands have died, our troops are still in danger.

I'm good at...

Giving my opinion!

I'm very bad at...

Holding my tongue or being patient.

The ideal night out is...

Dinner with friends or going to the theatre.

In moments of weakness I...

Get really stroppy, but I normally think it through and realise how wildly unimportant it probably is in the grand scheme of things.

In a truer life I'd have been an...

Opera singer. But it's a terrible strain on your voice.

The best age to be is...

About 40. You've learnt a lot and you know where you're going, hopefully.

In a nutshell, my philosophy is this...

Live for today!
