Tom Hanks scolded by Disney lawyers for Toy Story disclosure

Tom Hanks has proved that even the most humble Hollywood actors are susceptible to the odd 'do you know who I am?' moments.

The actor recalled being told off by lawyers for Walt Disney after confirming another instalment of Toy Story was in the works without permission from bosses during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

But Hanks, who has been voicing the character of Woody since 1995, refused to take his telling off lying down and reminded lawyers of who they were reprimanding.

“A while ago someone stuck a microphone in my face and asked if there was going to be a new film and I said yes,” Hanks said.

“And I then got a call from the Disney lawyers who said I couldn’t say anything about the new film because it affects the Disney stock market price.

"I said, ‘Hey, I’m sorry, but let me point out, I am Woody, pal!’”

Hanks isn’t always the voice of Woody however. In a 2011 appearance on Graham Norton he admitted his brother Jim sometimes steps in to voice the countless toys, video games and pieces of merchandise when he is otherwise engaged.
