The Curse of Frankenstein

Lee’s portrayal of Frankenstein’s monster is unnerving and physically unrelenting. A performance which put Hammer House of Horror on the map.

Dracula

Lee’s menacing Dracula remains one of the standout performances of a career spanning more than half a century.

The Wicker Man

The Wicker Man is a classic British horror film which fans immediately remember for Lee’s perverse character, Lord Summerisle. The film’s climactic scene where Summerisle holds his arms aloft and shouts “accept our sacrifice and make our blossoms fruit” is an unforgettable moment.

The Man With The Golden Gun

Lee’s Francisco Scaramanga was the slickest and possibly best Bond villain of all time. Lee's ability to combine natural charm with a twisted menace made Scaramanga an iconic character from the Bond series.

Lord of the Rings

Lee’s portrayal of Saruman in Lord of the Rings is remembered for an epic duel with Gandalf; but this scene perfectly captures his acting qualities. His unmistakably deep voice made Saruman a truly wicked character.

Star Wars

In a film series of incredible light-saber sequences, the fight scenes involving Lee’s villainous Count Dooku ranks up there.
