Man in court over baby's death

A man was due to appear in court today charged with the murder of a two-month-old baby girl.

West Yorkshire Police launched an investigation after the girl was admitted to Pinderfields Hospital near Wakefield with serious injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

She died in the early hours of Thursday and a 26-year-old man from the Castleford area has been charged with her murder.

He was due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court. PA
