A Saudi Arabian man has been found dead with serious head injuries in a hotel room, police said today.

The 32-year-old man was discovered at the prestigious five-star Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, central London.

Murder squad detectives were called in after the victim's body was found in a third-floor room shortly before 5pm yesterday.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the man suffered head injuries. The death is being treated as "suspicious" until a post mortem examination takes place.

A man aged in his 30s has been arrested and was being questioned today over the death.

Rooms at the grade two listed Landmark hotel, built in 1899, cost from £400 a night and is a favourite with some celebrities.

Guests have included television presenter Myleene Klass, while former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher held his wedding reception there after marrying Nicole Appleton.
