Sunday 05 February 2012 01:00 GMT

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Worcestershire pensioner Betty Yates, 77, a retired teacher who was found stabbed at her cottage near Bewdley on 4 January.

Police said the man does not live locally. He was detained at his home on Thursday and has since been released on bail. Police have appealed for information and officers took seven calls after a plea for help from Mrs Yates's son, David, and daughter, Hazel.
