Police made a fifth arrest in connection with the murder of a man who was found lying in a street with stab wounds in Swindon.

Officers were called to Barnum Court in Rodbourne, following reports of an assault.

They found Charles Millar, 44, who was known as Roger, lying in the street and gave him first aid until an ambulance arrived.

Mr Millar, from East Street, Swindon, was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Police said a 27-year-old man was arrested at an address in Corsham.

Earlier, two men, both 18, were bailed to return to police on a date in late July pending further inquiries.

Two other men, aged 17 and 19, remained in custody as the magistrates court granted an extension of 24 hours.

Anyone with information that might help police was asked to call 101 or, if wishing to remain anonymous, to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
