Reggae star Smiley Culture dies in police raid
The reggae artist Smiley Culture died yesterday during a police raid.
Sources said the musician, whose real name was David Emmanuel and who had hits in the 1980s including "Police Officer", is understood to have died from self-inflicted wounds in his east Surrey home. The 48-year-old was facing a drugs trial next week.
The police watchdog is investigating the death.
