Shooting victims were 'lucky to live'
A five-year-old girl was "happily playing" in a shop when she was hit by gunfire and left permanently paralysed, the Old Bailey heard yesterday.
Thusha Kamaleswaran will never walk again after the attack in Stockwell, south London, in March. A 35-year-old man was also injured.
Opening the prosecution case, Edward Brown, QC, said Thusha and Roshan Selvakumar were lucky to survive. Kazeem Kolawole, 19, Anthony McCalla, 19, and Nathaniel Grant, 21, deny causing grievous bodily harm.
The trial continues.
