A shopper has been stabbed in the face with a garden fork in Manchester.

The attack took place inside the Wilko store in Harpurhey Shopping Centre, north Manchester.

The 31-year-old victim and the 26-year-old attacker had reportedly been arguing before the stabbing. Both men continued to fight between the aisles after one was stabbed in the face.

An eyewitness said the victim told his attacker "you need f**king glasses" before he was stabbed, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The victim has received treatment to a cheek wound in hospital, police have said. His wounds were not life threatening.
