Police are on the hunt for a driver who failed to stop after brutally knocking down a pedestrian as he crossed the road in Manchester last month.

The man is seen being knocked into the air by the car, before landing awkwardly on his back.

Despite the victim being visibly injured, the driver fails to stop and continues his journey towards School Lane.

Police say the pedestrian suffered a broken neck, cuts to his head and back injuries as a result of the collision.

The driver of the car is yet to be identified and police are now appealing to the public for help.

Sergeant Iain Lamb said: "We would like to ask anyone who may have seen a car matching this description in the area at the time, or who thinks they recognise the vehicle, to contact us.

"Also, if you know anyone who owns a silver 307 with damage to its front end, please ring the numbers below."

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 2993 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
