A huge stock of macabre and bizarre sex props were discovered by police during a raid on a suspected brothel in Devon.

Officers made the shock find after neighbours reported "unusual" activity around the house in the quiet village of Lee Mill, near Ivybridge.

Among the hundreds of saucy and sadomasochistic items taken from the property were whips, masks, wooden bats, a Nazi uniform, handcuffs, clothes pegs, a straitjacket, shackles, chairs with straps, and sex toys.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the search warrant was executed at the suspected brothel last Friday.

Officers from the Force Tactical Aid Group, beat officers, special constables and CID made three arrests.

A 38-year-old man and two women aged 21 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to run a brothel, police said.

They were released on police bail until April 30 to allow police to carry out further inquiries into the running of the suspected brothel.
