A trailer containing £20,000 of biscuits has been stolen from a factory in south Wales.

Thieves took the trailer from Burton’s Food Ltd in Cwmbran, Torfaen, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It was later found empty in Warrington, Cheshire.

Well-known treats such as Wagon Wheels and Jammie Dodgers are produced by the company.

A police statement said: "We're investigating the report of a trailer containing £20,000 worth of biscuits being stolen from Burton's Food Ltd on Ty Coch Way in Cwmbran."

"Enquiries are currently ongoing," they said.

A spokesperson from the factory said they were helping Gwent Police with their investigation, the BBC reported.
