95-year-old 'Bill' from Southampton called BBC Radio Solent during Alex Dyke's mid-morning show last week, after his wife was taken into a nursing home.
Bill phoned BBC Radio Solent. He was upset, lonely and missing his wife.Alex decided to invite him in.We sent a cab to pick him up, have a listen to what happened next.

On hearing his story , the team organised for a taxi to pick Bill up and bring him to the studio - where he became an honorary 'special guest' and even fielded calls from smitten listeners.
