The emergency services were called at about 12.30pm yesterday but the man - who was in his 60s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was seriously injured in the incident and airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

A police spokesman said: "Wiltshire Police received a call shortly before 1pm yesterday to reports of two men being trampled by a herd of cows in a field in Turleigh, Bradford on Avon.

"Upon arrival, one man in his 60s was pronounced dead and another man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
