Daughter of stabbed teacher’s ballet gala
The Ann Maguire Gala organised by Emma Maguire, a Royal Ballet soloist, will be staged at Sadlers Wells Theatre
The dancer daughter of a teacher stabbed to death in a Leeds classroom last year is to perform in a gala hosted by Darcey Bussell to raise money for a charity set up in her mother’s name.
The Ann Maguire Gala organised by Emma Maguire, a Royal Ballet soloist, will be staged at Sadlers Wells Theatre on 22 March.
Ms Maguire said: “My mother was an inspirational teacher for generations of young people.
“As a family we felt that setting up a charity that continues her dedication to helping young people is what she would have wanted.”
While the gala is not a Royal Ballet event, many of its stars are set to perform during the evening including principals Edward Watson and Steven McRae.
