The dead of Hillsborough remembered at Liverpool ceremony
Show all 2A memorial ceremony was held today on the eve of the 24th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Around 300 people, including families of victims, gathered at Liverpool Town Hall where a memorial was established in the form of a clock stopped at 3.06pm – the time that the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest was called off due to the tragedy.
A 7ft bronze monument was also unveiled in the city’s Old Haymarket.
