The boyfriend of Martyn Hett has confirmed he died in the Manchester Arena bombing.

Russell Hayward said the "iconic and beautiful" 29-year-old, who has been missing since Monday night, had not survived the attack.

"We got the news last night that our wonderful iconic and beautiful Martyn didn't survive. He left this world exactly how he lived, centre of attention.

"I'm in a really bad way so please forgive if I don't reply. Thankfully I have his wonderful family and amazing friends to keep each other strong.

"I love you Martyn. I always will. X"

Mr Hett, a PR manager from Stockport, was at the Ariana Grande concert with a friend.

He and Mr Hayward had been interviewed by the press about their love of Coronation Street and were dubbed the "world's biggest superfan couple" of the soap.

Their matching tattoos dedicated to Coronation Street characters, Ken and Deirdre, led to Mr Hett's appearance on reality TV show Tattoo Fixers.

The couple also appeared on Come Dine With Me in 2014.
