Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has issued a plea for public donations – of Marmite and peanut butter.
The charity's 450 canine residents are apparently partial to the two spreads, which are smeared on to their toys for them to lick off.
However, supplies of Marmite and peanut butter are running low and Battersea is appealing to members of the public to donate. One jar is enough to give 50 dogs an afternoon indulgence.
Claire Porteous, operations manager at Battersea, said: "We want our dogs to enjoy their stay at Battersea and this is just one of the ways in which we aim to do that."
