A shopper is warning others to take extra care after she says she found a man in the back seat of her car in a supermarket in North Wales.

Susan Lunn, 56, from Bangor, had been shopping at Asda in Queensferry with her friend Sharron Lloyd on Monday evening.

But after loading her shopping into her car, Ms Lunn said she was approached by a man who told her his wife was in labour.

She told the Daily Post that she gave him directions to the hospital and even said he could follow her there “as he seemed so distressed”.

“He then gave me a pen and paper and I wrote down Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan, and then he took it and ran off," she said.

Her friend then apparently saw a man in the back of Ms Lunn’s vehicle. But he ran away when Ms Lloyd opened the door to question him.

Speaking of the incident to the Daily Post, Ms Lunn said: “I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else. It’s so scary. If it hadn’t been for my friend being with me, who knows what might have happened. It could have been a very different story.”

“I’m worried that these men are targeting women on their own, or maybe vulnerable adults using disabled bays.”

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We received reports about the suspicious behaviour of two men in the vicinity of Asda in Queensferry… It is not believed that any criminal offence was committed, but we are keen to trace the men and we are making further enquiries.”

A spokeswoman for Asda said: “We’re currently assisting the Police with their investigation, and have briefed all colleagues to be extra vigilant. If any of our customers need assistance to their cars we’re more than happy to help.”
