Supercar season descends on London with Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Bugattis in tow

Summer in Knightsbridge sees an influx of extravagant motors

One of London’s wealthiest boroughs has become the temporary home of Ferraris, Bugattis, and other sports cars as millionaires arrive in Knightsbridge for the so-called supercar ‘season’.

Visitors from across the world have descended on the capital with a trail of extravagant motors in tow as 'The Season' gets underway.

Many of the vehicle owners are believed to be millionaires from across the Arab world who arrive in London to showcase their motors and escape sweltering temperatures at home, the BBC reports.

A Mercedes AMG worth £70,000 and a gold Range Rover worth an estimated £150,000 are among some of the cars people have spotted cruising through London.

Meanwhile, a slightly more outlandish six-wheeled Mercedes believed to worth up to £400,000 has also made an appearance in the affluent neighbourhood, followed by a spider-patterned, Ferrari 458 with an estimated value of over £200,000.

While Londoners and tourists are often keen to take snaps of the bespoke vehicles, residents in Knightsbridge complain roads in the exclusive area are being turned into a race track by the influx of super-rich car owners, with many complaining the noise generated by revving engines is proving a nuisance.

Paul Wallace, who runs the Supercars of London YouTube channel, defended the presence of 'dream machines' zooming around London.

He told the Daily Mail: “August always proves to be the best time of year for petrolheads to see their dream machines on the road.

“Having seen the change in driving styles and cars, I still can't believe the police presence and residents kicking up a fuss. For four weeks out of 52, these super-wealthy individuals come and pump millions of pounds into the UK economy.

“Not only that, they fulfil many car fan's dream by bringing super rare Bugatti Veyrons, or special edition Paganis.”
