A teenager has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences.

Police said that the 19-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism in one of the terminal buildings and was held by officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command.

Since the arrest, properties thought to be connected to the arrest have been searched.

An address in the Camden area of north London has been confirmed as one of the properties searched.

Police confirmed that the arrest is "Syria-related", but no other information on the teenagers identity or where he was travelling to or from have been released.

The arrested man remains in custody at a police station in south London.

In a statement, the police said the arrest is "not in response to any immediate risk or threat."

There have been no further statements from the police as of yet.
