A teenager has been stabbed on a busy high street in Chelsea.

The attacker is on the run after knifing a 16-year-old boy in west London just before 7.30pm.

Metropolitan police found the victim with stab wounds.

He was rushed to hospital by ambulance and was taken into theatre.

No arrests have yet been made.

The victim's condition is not yet clear.

A police cordon has been erected and Kings Road has been partially closed off to traffic.

"Please avoid the Kings Road SW10 whilst we deal with an incident. We have closed part of the road, and traffic is heavy," police tweeted.

Images of the scene show a heavy police presence with several vehicles blocking the road.

Some social media users claimed the attack happened in a betting shop but this report is unconfirmed.

In a separate incident earlier on Tuesday, police were called to Wandsworth Road around 2pm where they found another victim with stab wounds.

The man in his 20s was taken to hospital but is not considered to have life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
