David Cameron has visited Yalding in Kent which has been badly affected by the severe weather, leaving homes flooded.

Residents told the Prime Minister who the rain waters deluged their homes and properties, flowing over exisitng flood barriers.

Cameron also spoke to one resident who's house was flooded by recent intense rains. Yalding resident Tim, explained that despite putting up flood barriers after the 2007 floods, the extreme recent weather meant the flood defences were not enough to stop water pouring into his house.

Over 50 flood warnings are now in place across the UK, with further rainfall and bad weather set to affect large parts of the country into this evening.

Amber sever weather warnings, urging people to be prepared are currently in place across northern England.
