CCTV footage from Richmond shows the moment a fearless jewellery shop owner chased a pair of thieves from his store on Whitton High Street on Monday.

Mark Guess chased two masked criminals who raided his shop on the outskirts of London and stole nearly £50,000 worth of watches and rings.

Surveillance video from L.Guess Jeweller shows the men arrive on a scooter along the pavement shortly before 11am on Monday morning.

One of the men dismounts and kicks the shop's door down, proceeding to use an axe to smash into the front display box and stuff his bag full of luxury watches and rings.

Guess can be seen running to the back of the store as the man begins the attack, emerging a few moments later with a baseball bat, hitting the men who quickly get back on their moped and speed off down the street.

Guess, who has been working at the family business for 25 years, said he believed around £20,000 worth of watches and a large diamond solitaire ring worth £15,000 had been stolen.
