May the 5th be with you? Royal Mail's attempt to celebrate Star Wars Day fails miserably
This is what happens when your PR team take the bank holiday
Royal Mail latest attempt to jump on a bandwagon has not been particularly well received.
The UK postal system tweeted earlier today: “Happy (belated) Star Wars day!”
Although the tweet hasn’t had much interest, the immediate replies below the Mail’s tweet indicate public perception of this once honourable public office may have dipped.
In no particular order, they complain about an alleged theft, multiple delays, and incompetence with dealing with complaints.
Meanwhile, most social media users could only note the irony of Royal Mail’s attempt to join in a movement a day late:
Star Wars Day (4th May for the uninitiated) allegedly evolved from a spread on 4th May when Margaret Thatcher took office in 1979.
