Ed Miliband will warn voters tomorrow that they cannot risk another five years of Conservative government as he spells out the “big choice” at next year’s general election.

He will launch a campaign including more than a dozen speeches by Shadow Cabinet members over the next five weeks highlighting the differences between the Tories’ “failure” in the last four years and Labour’s big reform agenda.

Labour is determined to prevent the news vacuum during the Commons summer break being filled by sniping at Mr Miliband’s leadership by his critics inside his party, as it was last year.

Speaking in London, the Labour leader will describe the election as “a choice between a Labour government determined to change an economy that doesn’t work for most people or a Tory government that thinks everything is fixed.”

The NHS will play a prominent part in Labour’s offensive. Mr Miliband will offer “a choice between a Labour government determined to restore the right values to our NHS or a Tory government that will let our NHS fall into decline and despair”.

He will also promise “a choice between a Labour government that will build our country so that it works for ordinary families once again or a Tory government that will look after only the few”.
