Election day looms, but have you decided who to vote for? If not, these should help you make up your mind.
1) Find out who your MP is and what they believe
TheyWorkForYou can tell you how your MP votes in parliament on the issues you care about - or even specific laws. They are supposed to represent you, so if they don't you can look for someone else.
2) See who is standing to replace your MP
YourNextMP.com lists the candidates who are standing in your area at the election. Enter your postcode and you can click on their names to find more details about who they are and what information is available about them.
3) Check how powerful your vote is
Some votes count more than others. If your vote doesn't count for much you might want to consider someone who would change that. voterpower.org.uk checks whether you can make a difference by voting in your area.
4) Find out who pays your MP
Many MPs recieve gifts, payments, and donations all the time. membersinterests.co.uk automatically checked Parliament's index and tells you who pays your MP.
5) Look at your local candidates' CVs
Democracy Club CVs is trying to collate the CVs of candidates who are standing for MP. They don't have everyone's but it's worth checking - or contributing. You are hiring them for a job, after all.
6) Check whose policies you agree with most
VoteForPolicies.org.uk shows you policies, asks you if you agree with them - and only tells you whose they are after you've answered. If you want to vote based on what parties are planning to actually do, this website is for you.
