Student protest: Demonstrators dispute the actions of Black Bloc anarchists after violence erupts

Violence erupted during the student protest in London yesterday when Black Bloc anarchists clashed with police officers.

Scotland Yard have said flares were hurled, smoke bombs let off and eggs thrown at officers. The police reacted by kettling protesters surrounding the building, but some managed to escape.

Moments after their escape, two protesters debated the actions of the anarchists and if it serves any purpose to the cause.

One student commented "literally, every single march, the anarchists come along, they’ve got no agenda, they don’t care about anything".

A protest supervisor replied ‘I don’t think that’s true, I think they have an agenda’

The student disagreed, "they’re just here to f**k s**t up".

"I don’t think we are selling out, I think they sell us out, really, when they come along and cause trouble every single time - then the headlines are that."
