Pornhub reveals which of the banned sex acts in porn the UK will miss the most

Turns out 'caning' is disproportionately popular in the UK

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport's decision to ban UK porn producers from depicting things like "the infliction of pain" and "verbal and physical abuse" won't have a huge effect on viewing habits as they'll only ever be a click away due to overseas content, and it's just as well given that Brits seem to have a predilection for these genres.

Off the back of The Independent's story on the new legislation, Pornhub crunched the numbers and determined how popular the list of acts that likely won't be allowed under the BBFC's R18 rating are in comparison with the rest of the world.

The site found that caning was particularly searched for by Brits (a hangover from public schools past no doubt), while spanking and whipping were also desired more in the UK than in the rest of the world.

Activities usually found in female domination videos such as facesitting and abuse, which might also be curbed by the regulations, also attracted higher searches than in the rest of the world.

Defending its decision to bring online VoD porn standards in line with those of DVDs found in sex shops, a DCMS spokesperson said yesterday: "The legislation provides the same level of protection to the online world that exists on the high street in relation to the sale of physical DVDs.

"In a converging media world these provisions must be coherent, and the BBFC classification regime is a tried and tested system of what content is regarded as harmful for minors."
