Peace talks have stalled again after government representatives accused a leader of the M23 rebels of insulting the President, the insurgents claim.
An M23 spokesman said negotiators for the government walked out of a meeting on Sunday night, saying they wanted M23 to expel Roger Lumbala for insulting President Joseph Kabila months ago in Burundi.
Mr Lumbala is the deputy head of M23’s negotiators in Uganda, where talks have been held since December to end violence in the volatile eastern Congo. The talks have repeatedly stalled.
