Women in the civil-rights group "Let's Save Togo" have announced a week-long sex strike to demand the resignation of President Faure Gnassingbé.
The plan to withhold sex from their husbands was inspired by a similar protest for peace in Liberia in 2003, the group's leader, Isabelle Ameganvi, said.
The protest against the President, who has been in power since 2005, follows the death of his father Gnassingbé Eyadema, who ruled Togo for 38 years.
