Ariana Grande doughnutgate: Shop owner 'is pressing charges' against singer after claims of lost revenue

'If it was one of us, like a regular customer, they would do something about it'

Singer Ariana Grande could face charges for licking donuts at a California bakery.

Joe Marin, owner of Wolfee Donuts, told the Toronto-based Roz & Mocha Show that he's been in touch with police about pressing charges against the singer.

“I did press charges and then when I was reading the newspaper it said that… I decided not to and I don’t know where that came from,” he said.

Marin also said that the 22-year-old singer was banned from the store for life, despite his claims that store had received triple the revenue since the incident, the Wrap reported.

However, Marin told police that he suffered a total of $4 in damages from the incident and that he filed charges on Monday, 6 July.

He also said that the camera footage, first released by TMZ, dropped the Wolfee Donuts shop's health rating from an “A” to a “B.”

“I think she should be pressed with charges. Just because she’s popular… If it was one of us like a regular customer, they would do something about it.”

Grande recently apologised on her YouTube and Twitter pages, seemingly after it was revealed she said "I hate America" in the video. She also cancelled a Major League Baseball concert where she would have sang the the National Anthem.

Phone calls were unreturned from the Wolfee Donut shop on Tuesday afternoon.
