Boston yeti returns as the US Northeast is hit by Winter Storm Marcus

As much as two feet is expected to drop on already buried region

Winter Storm Marcus is settling over the US Northeast on Monday and is expected to drop as much as two feet in some parts of the region, reburying areas that have been digging out of snow for the past two weeks.

As snow from the current storm started falling, Boston residents again reported sightings of the Boston yeti, a mysterious creature that has emerged with the recent storms.

Not much is known of the yeti, but he’s become a popular figure in the region, as people have posted photos of him on social media. Someone has even created a Twitter account for the beast, who was seen digging out a car Monday morning.

The Northeast US over the past two weeks has been battered by two winter storms, with some places getting more than four feet of snow. Worcester, Massachusetts has recorded 55 inches of snow, according to the Weather Channel, and could get as much as two additional feet.

NBC News reported that Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said state road crews had ploughed enough snow to fill Gillette Stadium – the home of Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots – more than 90 times.
