Dashcam shows hard shoulder near miss

In a dashcam video captured by Connecticut police, a car travelling 85mph can be seen slamming into another car on the hard shoulder, narrowly missing two bystanders.

The two men don't even have enough time to react, as the vehicle slams into the car next to them, missing them by mere inches.

In a Facebook post, the Connecticut police department confirmed no one had been injured in the crash, but did warn of the risk of standing on the side of the motorway.

"Your vehicle getting hit with you sitting in it or your body getting hit by a vehicle traveling at highway speed (in this case 85mph +); shouldn’t be a hard decision."

The driver, 21 year old Yoni Rojas, was arrested and charged with various motor offences including reckless driving.
