Georgia mother told family ‘something was going to happen to her’ before she disappeared

Remains believed to belong to the woman were found in a wooded area

The remains of a missing Georgia woman have been found weeks after she was said to have had a premonition, telling her family that “something was going to happen to her”.

Ashley Jones, a mother of three, went missing on 5 February, shortly after she told her family about her premonition, Sky News reported.

A hiker walking in a wooded area in Floyd County, Georgia last week discovered human remains and investigators have said there is a “strong possibility” that the remains belong to Ms Jones.

Her mother has identified the remains as her daughter, reports say.

The remains were found within walking distance of where Ms Jones was last seen, on Canard Road walking toward Kingston Highway, according to reports. Police have said they will release the identity of the remains once tests come back.

Ms Jones’s mother, Cyndi Jones wrote a message on Facebook after she was informed that her daughter’s remains likely had been found.

“My beautiful daughter was found today. I am heartbroken to say that she is no longer with us. I can not express to you the heartache and pain I feel. I am only posting this so her friends who care for her know. Please understand I am devastated and I only ask that what you post is respectful, and please let my family grieve in peace. Thank you.”
