A manhunt for a low-budget porn actor who is wanted in connection with two packages of body parts has been extended beyond Canada after he was added to Interpol’s wanted people list.

As well as two parcels containing body parts police have also discovered a headless torso near to an apartment rented by the porn actor Luka Rocco Magnotta.

Montreal police said yesterday that Magnotta, 29, was wanted in connection with homicide.

He was renting an apartment in Montreal and police discovered the headless male torso in a suitcase on a garbage heap.

The Montreal Gazette reported that a mattress found inside the apartment was "stained with blood".

On the same day a blood soaked and maggot-ridden package containing a human foot was delivered to the offices of the Canadian Conservative Party.

Another package, containing a hand, was delivered to the office of the Liberal Party in Ottawa.

It was also discovered on Tuesday.

An official working on the investigation has also claimed that there is a video of the crimes taking place.

Police in Montreal are awaiting official results, but have said they believe the limbs and torso were all from the same body.

Magnotta, who is also known by the names Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall (1.78 meters) with black hair and blue eyes.

His internet presence indicates he is a bisexual porn actor and model.

The severed foot was discovered after a political adviser to the Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, opened the grisly package at the party headquarters.

The adviser, Jenni Bryne, said the foul odour from the package filled the office when the box was opened.

"It was such a horrible odor. I'm sure many of us will not forget it," Conservative Party spokesman Fred DeLorey said.

The package was not addressed to a specific individual at the Conservative Party, police said.

Ian Lafreniere, Montreal Police Commander, said detectives were looking at the possibility that other body parts might have been posted.

He also said the suspect and the victim knew each other, and that the case was not linked to organised crime.

"We're talking about a very disturbed person. It's very graphic. We're still missing parts of the body," Mr Lafreniere said.
