Woman jumps in Tiger enclosure

Video has emerged showing the dramatic moment a woman jumped into the tiger enclosure at Toronto Zoo in order to retrieve a lost hat.

The woman can be seen walking in the enclosure while the tiger angrily roams inside a separate space.

She manages to climb out of the enclosure without being harmed; but an argument breaks out between her and a member of the public who repeatedly calls her a “moron”.

“You’re a bad example to everyone else’s kids.”

Toronto Zoo is investigating the footage and is asking witnesses to explain what happened.

Spokesperson Jennifer Tracey told CBC News: "It was very irresponsible of this individual to jump over the boardwalk and she could have easily injured herself by exciting the animal in this way.

“The situation could have been much worse.”
